The Windrush Generations

Hello,

The senior students majoring in « Engineering and Sustainability » worked on

the Windrush Generations.

After World War II hundreds of Caribbean people moved to England, their « motherland » as they called her. England needed labor in many sectors and people from the colonies were glad to respond to this call, hoping to find better opportunities in Europe.

As the years went by Caribbean immigrants found their way into British society.

The students had to choose British people of Caribbean origin.

They could be politicians, sports champions, actors or actresses, writers and more.

All of them enriched British society thanks to their cultures and despite hostile attitudes in the past and even today.

We hope that these short presentations will encourage you to learn more about The Windrush Generations !
